EBARA DRS series sewage pumps with a grinder and an open-type impeller are used for pumping domestic and industrial wastewater in municipal and industrial systems. The pump design allows operation with liquids containing abrasive particles and fibrous materials.
Such aggressive environments require reliable mechanical seals. BTS Engineering mechanical seals perform this task exceptionally well.
Inside the oil chamber, equipped with a vortex prevention system, there are two mechanical seals (the shaft is stepped):
- R-MG1 in Silicon carbide/Silicon carbide/NBR materials on the impeller side;
- R-BT-AR in Carbon/Ceramic/NBR materials on the motor side.
The thermal protection switch, included as standard in all EBARA D series pumps, helps prevent pump damage during dry running conditions.
