Centrifugal single-stage pumps Hydro-Vacuum FZ are designed for pumping clean and contaminated water, domestic and industrial wastewater, including liquids containing solid and long-fiber particles. Certain operating features of these pumps require the use of reliable and durable mechanical seals.
The pump section is separated from the oil chamber by a seal cover and the so-called lower mechanical seal. The “dry” part of the pump, where the bearings are located, is separated from the oil chamber by the upper mechanical seal. Both mechanical seals operate in a chamber filled with petroleum jelly oil.
When replacing mechanical seals, the following general rules should be observed:
- the shaft surface must be clean and undamaged;
- before final assembly of the mechanical seal, the sliding surfaces should be degreased;
- when installing mechanical seals, the installation lengths specified in the manufacturer’s drawings must be observed (when replacing with a seal from another manufacturer, it may be necessary to change the thickness of the sealing washer).
