The standard BGWH pump is equipped with a single mechanical seal, which operates in a pumped medium with a high content of dry substances, in contact with the friction pair, which stick and deposit on the friction pair, creating a crust from flour, sugar, yeast, etc. By upgrading the seal with a chamber for coolant and flushing fluid, we have eliminated this kind of problem by feeding water at a pressure higher than the working fluid pump. This seal is used when it is not possible to supply the seal with a barrier fluid. Such a mechanical seal is absolutely leak-proof, but its service life is shorter than that of a double mechanical seal with a barrier fluid. In addition, this seal interacts less well with abrasive fluids and fluids that crystallize.
