Self - priming pumps are devices that are based on lifting water to a height while being on the surface. Due to the rotation of the impellers with blades, a low-pressure zone is created in the pump, and water moves through the pipes in an attempt to fill the conditions formed. Thus, the water rises and by inertia passes into the zone where the pressure, on the contrary, is high and is repelled into the pressure pipe further through the system. In fact, there is a process of suction of water by a pump, for which it received its characteristic name.

The self-priming pump consists of an electric motor that rotates the impellers and the pump part, where the main mechanisms for lifting water are located. The pump and motor are connected by a coupling, because the design is not monoblock. The seal ensures the tightness and reliability of such a connection. There are models with magnetic couplings that do not require an additional seal.

In our online store you can buy both the pumping equipment itself and additional parts for it.

Types of self-priming pumps

There are many classifications of self-priming pumps, but they all come down to specific features. There are the following types of pumps:

  • With integrated ejector
  • Without built-in ejector
  • Submersible pumps
  • Surface pumps

Noisy pump models. They are used in non-residential premises for watering the garden or vegetable garden.

Silent pumps that operate due to the hydraulic design of several stages. They are more often used in residential areas.

The device operates submerged in a certain amount of water to directly supply liquid directly inside without additional pipes or tanks.

The device works on the surface, and suction occurs by pumping the atmosphere and raising water to a certain height.

What to pay attention to when choosing a self-priming pump

When choosing a pump model, you need to pay attention to:

  • The depth from which water will be absorbed;
  • Pump power and will it be able to lift the liquid to such a height;
  • Distance to supply water;
  • Pressure that needs to be in the system;
  • Water supply speed;
  • Water quality and the presence of various impurities in it.

Choosing a device that takes into account all these nuances will help not only to get a really good pump model, but also to increase the overall performance of the entire network.
